MAXiTUF Plastic Lumber comes with a 50 year warranty

Because MAXiTUF plastic lumber is:
- A solid board and not a hollow profile.
- All plastic and not a combination of organic materials like wood fiber and plastic.
- Protected against deterioration from sunlight.
- Manufactured from 100% recycled HDPE.
A long life is not all plastic lumber offers. After your deck is installed, there are no additional tasks to take care of. You don’t have to apply sealer or paint ever again. The only maintenance MAXiTUF requires to look it’s best is an occasional “hose down”.
In case your barbecue left a puddle of grease on your plastic lumber deck - no problem - just use some soap and water to rinse off the grease and your deck looks as good as before. Try this with wood or wood plastic composites . In fact, there are not many chemicals that could stain or hurt Resco’s plastic lumber. Even bleach, paint thinner, diesel, gasoline and battery acid will not succeed in spoiling the beauty of plastic lumber making it especially useful for plastic decks and docks. And all the little critters that do so well in destroying products containing wood will leave your MAXiTUF deck alone in frustration. Carpenter ants, termites, marine borers, algae and fungi are not a concern with plastic lumber because it’s designed to protect your investment. This fairly new decking material is splinter free and also free of dangerous chemicals. A fact you will appreciate especially if you have little ones to worry about. Read more about Plastic Lumber Capabilities.
You see MAXiTUF plastic lumber is not only used for residential decking but also benefits commercial and industrial applications.
Milo Hanson, having years of experience in marina construction and maintenance, knows precisely how to get the biggest bang for the buck. Milo’s first project was to replace the whaler boards on existing finger docks. These whaler boards give the boat a surface to rub against and in addition ties the two segments of the finger dock together. Quite some time after the dock was finished he made the following observations:
- The bolt holes through the whalers were still the original size. (Enlargement of bolt holes is a common problem encountered with wood.). MAXiTUF has a much greater compressive strength, resisting the “wobbling” effect.
- The whalers didn’t change a bit in appearance.
- The fellow occupying the slip next to the new finger dock was inquiring when his side would be upgraded.

“We’ve replaced the whaler boards around our concrete floats with Resco’s MAXiTUF. After 4 years they still look brand new.”
Milo Hanson, Port of Gold Beach, Oregon
We demonstrated to Milo and the Port of Gold Beach that plastic lumber not only increased the satisfaction of their customers but also dramatically reduced their maintenance cost, and this for many years to come. Since Milo discovered plastic lumber he has used it for many of his projects.
Ever notice how noisy a wooden deck can be? MAXITUF plastic lumber, while very comfortable to walk on reduces the noise of footsteps to a minimum. This fact will be appreciated by anyone who sleeps at your marina. If you choose MAXiTUF in a soft, light gray, you'll discover that:
- Glare is effectively controlled (thats why we don't recommend white).
- Visibility and safety at night is increased. Especially in rainy nights, when wood appears to be almost black and barely reflects any light at all.
You already know that MAXITUF plastic lumber is resistant to alkalies, acids and solvents. It gets even better. MAXITUF is a sure winner when you need resistance to abrasion. Let me give you an example:
Railroad crossing at Georgia Pacific Corp.

Railroad Crossing installed |
Picture shows the MAXiTUF installation completed in Fall 1999
Problem: The heavy duty, wooden decking between rails has to be replaced at least once a year. The management tried several solutions to get away from this expensive maintenance procedure. Hardtop did not work because it squeezed out due to the heavy pressure from trucks and forklifts. Concrete broke and crumbled. So they went back to timber, turning the boards over about every six months, and then replacing them within a year. This railroad crossing is exposed to the abuse of approx. 100 full size semi trucks per day. Additionally three Hysters (35,000 lbs. each) moving lumber from the plant to storage areas using this crossing. To make matters worse it is also located where the heavy equipment turns, lots of abrasion there.
Solution: Craig Sines of Mel Sines Construction Co., who specializes in railroad related construction, proposed an alternative to Georgia Pacific's management. During previous visits to our plant Craig discovered what benefits MAXITUF plastic lumber can offer. Durability, high compressive strength and an outstanding resistance to abrasion combined with a fair price convinced him that our product would reduce GP's maintenance problem dramatically.
Result: Winter 2001 there is no sign of deterioration at this railroad crossing GP's management is very happy.

Since GP's first installation and its success, GP has installed 2 more railroad crossings using MAXiTUF plastic lumber.
